PPI’s child welfare projects address the needs of some of the most disadvantaged children – children in slums and rural areas, orphans, children at risk for prostitution, and children of workers in high risk occupations.

PPI has supported rural balwadis (pre-school programs), a program for rag picker children near Kolkatta’s largest red light district, orphanages in Karnataka, a program for stone quarry workers’ children in Tamil Nadu, and various programs in urban slums.
