MGBK has successfully completed the second and final year of their “Tribal Children’s Education and Safe Drinking Water” project. The “safe drinking water” part of the project had been completed during the first year of the project by constructing new and repairing old tube wells.

The supplemental education of the 28 Kheria Sabar tribal girls was continued in the current year. These girls attended 8th grade classes in a regular high school, but because of their being first generation learners, they couldn’t get any help with lessons or homework at home. Without this specific program, these girls were at risk of falling behind in their studies and dropping out. With this project, the girls were given educational help in various subjects by 4 part time teachers. They were also provided exercise books etc. The COVID-19 virus infection concerns required appropriate adjustments, such as running the coaching center with only 14 girls at a time to maintain good social distance etc. As a result of this supplemental education, all the 28 girls passed their final examination.
