2021 Covid-19 Relief Grant: $2,500
In 2021, during the second wave, lockdown was imposed in Bihar to control the incessant rise of
COVID-19 cases in the state, particularly in rural areas. The most affected were the daily wage earners who lost their work opportunities and faced starvation.
ASS helped 201 poor and vulnerable families in Muzzafarpur district with dry rations and disease prevention supplies such as rice, flour, pulses, potatoes, salt, cooking oil, face masks, and
sanitizer, using the PPI funding they received. The beneficiaries were located in the villages of Jiyan Khurd, Subhankarpur, Mahmadpur, Subey, Madhubani and Jamin Mathia. Jamin Mathia was also additionally affected by flooding at the time of distribution work.
